Diebold: New Hampshire Vote Counting
I have just received an email from the reliable resource of legitgov.org, showing Where Paper Prevailed, Different Results. That webpage explains the discrepancies between electronic tabulations and hand-counted ballots.
In addition, there is information concerning electronic voting at Democracy For New Hampshire, which said:
81% of New Hampshire ballots are counted in secret by a private corporation named Diebold Election Systems (now known as "Premier"). The elections run on these machines are programmed by one company, LHS Associates, based in Methuen, MA. We know nothing about the people programming these machines, and we know even less about LHS Associates. We know even less about the secret vote counting software used to tabulate 81% of our ballots. People like to say "but we use paper ballots! They can always be counted by hand!"Well, first let's check out LHS Associates website. They specify that they are the EXCLUSIVE re-seller of Diebold's Accu-Vote in New England. Okay, that establishes that connection. Then the next thing we should do is find out who are Diebold's Major Share Holders, and how much of Diebold's shares they control. What is obvious from the table below is that Diebold is just another one of those big absentee-owner plantations in which insiders have one percent or less of the shares. This means that Diebold has plantation management beholding only to the Major Holders. By understanding who the Major Holders are, one can determine probable self-interest.
By drilling down into the Major Holders, you'll see the inter-connections between the companies and their Major Holders. That's why a company's actions are not always in the rest of the shareholders interest, but could easily be in the Major Holders interest. That's why people think directors and CEOs do stupid things. It's not stupid if it benefits the Major Holders. However, employees, customers and shareholders NOT privy to that knowledge are screwed. What a way to get around insider trading rules.
It is also an effective means of controlling how people vote through TV network programming, and if the public doesn't vote exactly as planned, simply go tinker with the actual votes themselves. Amazing, isn't it! It's the incestuous relationship of the money power involved in these huge corporate plantations that have lead our Republic down the fascist road of their self-interest. And the public be damned.
