Des Moines Register vs Kucinich
or
How Voters Are Programmed Via The Media

This story came to my attention after being posted on OpEdNews.com, a wonderful alternative to MSM, that is, MainStream Media. It was originally posted here on DailyKos.com by JeanHayBright. This is how the story starts off:

"I want to let you know what’s going on in Iowa.

The Des Moines Register put out a press release last week announcing that six of the eight Democratic candidates for President had "accepted invitations" to debate this Thursday. Congressman and Presidential Candidate Dennis Kucinich was not among them.

What the Des Moines Register press release should have said is that they offered invitations to this debate to only six of the eight nationally recognized Democratic presidential candidates and that all six who were invited accepted."

I encourage you to read her story before proceeding.

The point I wish to add to that story is to show how the Des Moines Register is connected to many other major daily newspapers, controlled through one corporation named Gannett. Below are the Major Holders of the Gannett plantation. I call it a plantation because no one at the company has any major financial interest nor ownership in this company, as shown by 0% holdings by insiders.

Therefore, people who actually run these Gannett newspapers, radio stations and television stations can simply be called plantation managers. What the absentee owners demand, some from foreign countries, is what will be carried out. Not by physical instructions, but by implied loss of jobs. Since the ownership of all of our media is tightly controlled by only a few Major Holders, anyone losing their job will never work again in their chosen field. Unfortunately, this has been already demonstrated by Gary Webb.

Gary Webb (August 31, 1955 – December 10, 2004) was a Pulitzer Prize-winning American investigative journalist, best known for his 1996 "Dark Alliance" investigative report series, written for the San Jose Mercury News. In the three-part series (later published as a book), Webb investigated Nicaraguans linked to the CIA-backed Contras who had allegedly distributed crack cocaine into Los Angeles and funneled profits to the Contras. Webb also alleged that this influx of Nicaraguan supplied cocaine sparked and significantly fueled the widespread crack epidemic that swept through urban areas. Webb's reporting generated a large controversy and the Mercury News backed away from the story, effectively ending Webb's career as a mainstream media journalist. The CIA inspector general’s 1998 findings, later confirmed much of what Webb had alleged. On December 11, 2004, he died from two gunshot wounds to the head, said in media reports to be self-inflicted.

Whether acknowledged or not, this sword is held over every journalist in the MSM. This is why economic/political dis-information is broadcast to our TVs, and radios, and printed in our newspapers. By the way, the San Jose Mercury News was owned by Knight-Ridder at that time. In 2006, it was sold to the McClatchy group, who then sold it to MediaNews Group. NOW do you understand why I use the word "plantation?" Bought and sold just like land.

Below is the list of the Major Holders of Gannett, and I encourage you to click this link "And Owns What Else? to see what else Gannett owns and controls. To me, it's overwhelming that one firm controls so much information.

You'll not only be amazed how much media they control, but you'll now understand just how tightly your choices, your information, and your thoughts are controlled.

It is very difficult NOT to do what we're "programmed" to do. Now that's REAL power. And very dangerous.

This is our chance to see it actually in real-time. Candidate Dennis Kucinich has real information to discuss and share, and Major Holders of Gannett and other large media corporations DO NOT WANT YOU TO BE HONESTLY INFORMED. How much more evidence do you need? More? Here's more.
