Google and The Republican Party of Iowa

I have just received an email from the reliable resource of Charleston Voice, containing the following message:

The Iowa GOP is now devoted to TOTAL TRANSPARENCY for the Iowa Caucus. Quite a CHANGE -- Ten days ago Iowa GOP HQ told investigator Bev Harris (the star of the HBO documentary, Hacking Democracy) that they would NOT publish the results precinct by precinct and caucus by caucus to the internet, and they never have! . . .
Attached was this updated information:
GOP Will Post Real Time Results Thursday
By Craig Robinson, Republican Party of Iowa Political Director

As presidential preference polls are conducted around the state, the Iowa GOP will post real time results on our website, www.iowagop.net.

The article can be found here: http://www.iowagop.net/shownews.asp?artid=34

Now here is an excerpt from that article that made me go Hmmmmmmm:
The entire process was designed to promote complete transparency. At the conclusion of the evening, the Iowa GOP will post precinct by precinct results as well.

In addition to these efforts, we have also forged a first-of-its-kind partnership with Google. Results will be sent to Google and they will be posted on Google Maps. By clicking on an Iowa county, you will be able to see the results as reported.

As part of their new political program, Google has established a huge presence in Des Moines. “We want to give Americans, and people around the world, a front row seat at this first-in-the-nation event,” observed Ginny Hunt, Google Election Program Manager.

Please forive my skepticism, but being from the Heart of America, let's "trust, but verify!" Don't take this wrong. Google's okay by me so far. However, when I looked up the TOP 10 Major Holders of Google, I've just realized that Google has grown so big they've become just another absentee-owned plantation, without almost no insider ownership. See below, it registers 0%.

The TOP 10 Major Holders only make up only 1.2% of the 834 Institutional Holders, but they control 36.75% of the company. Amazing, 1.2% controls over a third of Google. In addition, AXA and Barclays are foreign entities, and by clicking the links of the highlighted holders, their inter-connections are also displayed. You can see how many BILLIONS they have at risk and the percentage of Google they control.

So let's keep our eyes wide-open, trust but verify the centralized effort, and then enjoy the show.
